Through a lengthy note she put up on her Instagram Story feed, the ‘Let You Love Me’ singer apologizes to fans for the cancellation and promises to headline the Iceland event in 2020.
Rita Ora has pulled out of an appearance at the upcoming “Secret Solstice Festival” in Iceland to focus on her health after struggling with a re-occurring chest infection.
The 28-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday, June 19, to tell fans she was “heartbroken” to scrap her set at the weekend event, but doctors had advised her to cancel.
“I’m very sad to have to let all those attending the Solstice in Iceland know that I’m not going to be able to headline as planned,” the singer, who performed at Sunday’s Soccer Aid event in London.
“I’ve been struggling with a re-occurring chest infection and have been advised by my Doctors to take out to recover. I was so excited to spend time in Iceland and be part of this festival. I never take any cancellation lightly as I’m always hugely grateful for the opportunities I have to perform as I love performing.”
“I’m especially disappointed and heartbroken when it means letting down my wonderful fans. I’m so sorry to not be there! I love you all and thank you for your support.”
Rita Ora apologized for canceling her appearance at an Iceland gig.
Ora plans to make it up to festival bosses by performing at the event next year, adding: “I look forward to celebrating Solstice 2020 with you!”
Black Eyed Peas, Martin Garrix and Robert Plant will headline the festival in Reykjavik over the weekend, June 21-23.
