It was reported yesterday that the couple had left the mansion they were renting in Vancouver to set up a permanent residence in Hollywood. The Good Morning Britain host, who has long been a critic of the former senior royal couple, could not resist providing a social media comment on the bombshell revelation.
Piers tweeted a link to a story by the Sun’s Dan Wooton on the couple’s relocation, along with the caption: “Oh jeez…there goes the neighbourhood.”
This prompted the TV host’s 7.2 million followers to give their thoughts on the matter.
One said: “I like Harry but I just don’t know why he is doing this. Such a shame. #ClapForTheNHS”
Another commented: “Whose paying for all this? Hope it’s not the taxpayers!”
A third replied: “ I thought they were not moving here as long as Trump is President.“
The move has surprised many after Prince Harry’s latest comments on Trump where he claimed the president of having “blood on his hands.”
Harry who reportedly fell for a prank call by Russian hoaxers, confessed that the POTUS is one of the “sick people” running the world.
He added: “I think there are some good leaders, political leaders around the world, and at the moment it’s severely unbalanced and in favour of bad leaders.
“And now I’m confident within the next five to 10 years things will change, but we can’t wait five or 10 years.”
Meanwhile, Meghan has reportedly said that she wouldn’t move back to LA while Trump is president.
Back in 2016 ahead of the election, Meghan blasted Trump as “divisive” and a “misogynist” on Comedy Central’s “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.”
On his trip to the UK in June last year Trump said he has no idea about Meghan’s comments.
The president hit back: “I didn’t know she was nasty.”
The royal pair jetted out of Canada to Meghan’s hometown in the US before the borders were shut amid the coronavirus pandemic.
An insider told The Sun: “Harry and Meghan have left Canada now for good.
“The borders were closing and flights were stopping. They had to get out.
“But this move was planned for some time. They realised Canada would not work out for various reasons and they want to be based in the Los Angeles area.
“They have a big support network there. It’s where their new team of Hollywood agents and PRs and business managers are based.
“Meghan has lots of friends there and, of course, her mum Doria.”
