Lockdown has been a lonely time for many Brits, and it seems staying isolated has also been difficult overseas as Meghan Markle’s best friend Misha Nonoo confessed to “massively missing her friends” while quarantined in New York with her four-month-old son Leo.
The British-Bahraini fashion designer opened up about her lack of female friendship during the pandemic in an interview with People magazine.
Misha Nonoo is known for her eponymous clothing line, and has been a long-term friend of Harry and Meghan’s.
The US based designer said she: “needs her girlfriends to have a laugh with and make light of things.”
Misha Nonoo, is rumoured to have introduced Meghan and Prince Harry back in 2016.
She and Meghan share a lot in common as much like the Duchess of Sussex, she is also the mother of a young son.
The fashion designer and her oil heir husband Mikey Hess announced the birth of their first child Leo in March.
The first time mother has since been making an effort to connect with friends virtually.
The two friends have been unable to meet throughout the crisis, with New York’s lockdown only having eased last month.
In the meantime, the fashion designer has been taking advantage of FaceTime, but is less than impressed with not being able to see her friends.
She said: “it’s not the same.
“Being a new mum, you need a support network, and I definitely miss having in-person time with my new baby and my friends.
“I miss having my girlfriends to have a laugh with and make light of things.
“This is a challenging and stressful and discombobulating time, but we have to look forward to the time when we can all be together.”
However, Misha said she has enjoyed the family time she’s been able to have.
She said her husband would’ve been travelling for work under normal circumstances.
During her pregnancy, Misha previously shared that the Duchess of Sussex had been sharing her advice about becoming a first time mother.
The designer said: “As with all friendships, you share lots of tips and everything.”
Her baby announcement came less than a year after close friend Meghan gave birth to baby Archie in May 2019.
Meghan has since been on her own path since the royal split.
Most recently she spoke at the Girl Up leadership summit, encouraging young women to speak out about issues that matter to them.
