The news comes a week after Maroon 5 headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show and a day after Cardi made Grammys history by becoming the first female artist to win the coveted Best Rap Album award on Sunday night, February 10.
Their collaboration held the number one spot for seven weeks, while Sheeran’s hit spent 12 weeks at the top.
The Chainsmokers and Halsey‘s “Closer” and LeAnn Rimes‘ “How Do I Live” previously held the record with 32 weeks apiece.
