The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took to Instagram to post a video from the event on their Kensington Royal account. The clip shows William and Kate arriving and greeting other guests at the London Palladium in November.
They captioned video: “Our followers in the UK can watch the 2019 Royal Variety Performance on @ITV on Tuesday 10th December at 7.30pm.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended this year’s performance at the London Palladium.
“The Royal Variety Performance is held in aid of the Royal Variety Charity, of which Her Majesty The Queen is Patron.
“Money raised from the show is helping hundreds of entertainers throughout the UK who need help and assistance as a result of old age, ill-health, or hard times.”
The post prompted a delighted reaction from their followers.
One commented: “I love them both so much.”
Another said: “Oh wow! Kate looks stunning!”
A third compared Kate to Princess Diana, writing: “Kate is stunning. She has Diana’s class and elegance and ability to talk to anyone.”
The star-studded show included performances from Robbie Williams, the cast of West End musical Mary Poppins, chart-topping singer Lewis Capaldi and Britain’s Got Talent winner Colin Thackery.
Rod Stewart was forced to pull out of the event due to a throat infection.
The Royal Variety Performance has taken place since 1912.
The annual event raises money for the Royal Variety Charity, of which the Queen is patron.
