As fans of the show will remember all too well, Eyal Booker, 23, and the former glamour model endured an awkward on-screen breakup, coming to the realisation there was nothing beyond their physical attraction.
While Megan moved on with now-boyfriend Wes Nelson, 20, Eyal didn’t get so lucky, leaving the show single, and eventually appearing on Celebs Go Dating.
As of late, Megan and Wes have been hit with reports their relationship is going through a rocky patch, something Barton-Hanson has denied.
Daily Star Online caught up with Eyal at the VOXI x Phones launch, and he gave his verdict on his ex’s new relationship.
Far from being bitter over the union, Booker had nothing but praise for Megan and Wes.
Claiming their romance is the real deal, Eyal told us: “I’m really happy for Megan and Wes. I think that they are genuine in their relationship.”
He added: “They are going very strong. We’re all friends. I wish them the best of luck. I hope they continue to go from strength-to-strength.”
And despite them experiencing tension on the show, Eyal is now on good terms with Megan.
He explained: “We’re fine now. I’ve seen her at lots of different events… We’re all friends.”
“Megan and Wes are genuine in their relationship”
On the show, Eyal and Megan both discussed the demise of their romance with other Love Islanders before finally sitting down together.
Explaining the reasons behind the delayed conversation, Booker explained: “We were [physically] attracted to each other, and when you have that initial attraction with someone, you want to make it work.”
“When you come to realise ‘it’ is not there, you’ve kind of just got to say it. It’s never going to be nice.”
He added: “We were both pretty aware of it [our incompatibility]. That’s why there wasn’t some big blow-out argument, like some other situations we saw in there.”
While he is now at peace with his time spent in the Love Island villa, Eyal told us his confidence was dented when he initially left the show.
However, the rising star was given the boost he needed when appearing on Celebs Go Dating.
Eyal revealed: “Coming off Love Island, I think it knocked my confidence a little bit, because I didn’t have the easiest ride in there.
“I questioned myself whether it was me or them. Celebs Go Dating — and having the agents advise us — made me realise it’s neither.
“Sometimes you’re not compatible with people, and there wasn’t anyone in the villa for me.”
Eyal had a much happier ending on Celebs Go Dating, landing himself a date for the big finale episode that took place in Greece.
However, the series wasn’t such a hit for love coach Lady Nadia Essex, who handed in her resignation mid-way through filming, after it transpired she had been trolling her former co-star Eden Blackman on Twitter.
