In just two years, the singer has collected eight awards in total and become the first artist to have five No. 1 songs on Billboard’s country chart with his first five singles.
Luke Combs was merely a college dropout when he first started pursuing a career in the music industry for real, but his hard work had surely paid off. In such a short amount of time, the country singer has already been considered as one of the greatest country musicians in the industry with a series of hits after hits.
First gaining attention with his debut single “Hurricane”, Luke currently has five singles that have topped Billboard’s country chart. What makes it more special is the fact that they all are his first five singles, making him become the first artist to have five No. 1 songs on the chart with his first five singles. His latest single to do that was “Beautiful Crazy”, that topped the Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay as well as Billboard’s Canada County chart.
Not only his singles, but his albums are also doing well on charts. His debut album “This One’s for You” has landed 41 weeks at No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top Album chart. It now ties with Garth Brooks‘ “No Fences” record as the third longest run at the top of the chart. Both albums are just behind Shania Twain‘s “Come on Over” and Randy Travis‘ “Always & Forever”.
With such an impressive achievement, it’s only natural for Combs to win awards. So far, he has collected eight awards in total, including Country Artist of the Year at 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards and Top Country Artist at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. Additionally, he was nominated for the Best New Artist category at the 61st Grammy Awards.
As if that wasn’t enough, he has also been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, which is dubbed the “Country’s Most Famous Stage”. It was such an emotional moment for Luke, who said during his speech, “If people remember anything about what I’ve done, and I think I tell it to the crowd a lot too, is that if I can do this, you can do anything. I am the proof that you can do anything that you set your mind too.”
