Ant McPartlin has been absent from television screens for the past year, after taking some time off.
He returned to rehab last year after a drink-driving crash and stepped back from work commitments to focus on his recovery.
But it’s already been confirmed that he’s back at work this year, with Ant and Dec returning to Britain’s Got Talent, which starts airing in April.
Just weeks ahead of his highly anticipated return to screens, Ant has been out and about in Whitley Bay, near Newcastle.
Locals were keen to get snaps with the 43-year-old, who was out walking his beloved dog Hurley.
Posing with a number of fans, Ant smiled widely as he enjoyed his day out by the beach with Hurley and his girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett.
While she didn’t feature in any photos, one fan let slip that Anne-Marie was actually behind the camera.
“Thank you Ant for taking the time to have a picture with us yesterday, and your lovely girlfriend for taking the picture for us”
Kara Cash shared her selfie online, writing: “Thank you Ant for taking the time to have a picture with us yesterday, and your lovely girlfriend for taking the picture for us.”
Ant dressed for the cold March weather, wrapping up in a long puffa coat and a Newcastle United FC scarf.
The television icon looked a far cry from the person who spoke outside Wimbledon Magistrates Court last April.
Ant made a statement after pleading guilty to drink-driving and receiving a fine of £86,000 and 20-month driving ban.
Outside court, he said: “I just want to say I’m truly sorry for what happened.
“Higher standards are expected of me, I expect them of myself. I let myself down. I let a lot of people down. For that, I’m truly sorry.
“I’d like to apologise to everyone involved in the crash, and i’m just thankful that no one was seriously hurt.”
While Ant will return to screens with Britain’s Got Talent – and I’m A Celeb this autumn – Saturday Night Takeaway is being rested for 2019.
